Tiny toner specs appear all over my paper, I've tried several settings/paper combos. I am on a mac so don't have access to HP Toolbox that is recommended to solve this problem. go to HP website, and ask support there, read the manual, you not got one? download it from hp.com

Yes u need to clean the printer. Sounds like there is toner on the Drum.
