In a word, yes. A team of Australian scientists at the Queensland University of Technology have undertaken research to find out if the laser printers we use everyday at work and home pose any health risks. The results are quite alarming.


During their investigation, over 60 different models of laser printer were used, and their emissions tested. The results found that around a third of the printers gave off emissions that contained particles of toner. The toner itself is a plastic material that gets melted onto the paper. You can judge for yourself if it is healthy to inhale plastic.
