Bro HL-5140 laser printer: How do I reset toner settings?

My Brother HL-5140 laser printer has toner in the cartridge, but the printer says it needs replacing and refuses to print. So ';helpful';--not. Obviously a ploy to sell more toner cartiridges. Are there any work arounds that you know of?Bro HL-5140 laser printer: How do I reset toner settings?
While it may appear that the cartridge still has toner in it, the waste gate may be full too and there's really not a lot you can do without laying out some cash.

You really would be best off to just replace the toner cartridge. If you're trying to save some cash, find a supplier that sells remanufactured, not just refilled, or new compatible toner cartridges.Bro HL-5140 laser printer: How do I reset toner settings?
If the toner has a chip/metal contacts on it, they can usually be reset by purchasing a resetting device. Shouldn't be too expensive, I would look on eBay, but you may be able to find one elsewhere (e.g. google).

Hope this helps,

Ken
