I purchased a new drum unit for our Panasonic KX-MB271 laser printer and it worked pretty well until the toner was low. I went on amazon and found one of those refill kits which was basically a bottle full of toner and I just refilled it following the directions. I'm not sure what happened but a few days later whenever I would print anything the paper would be dirty. Even when I printed out a blank white sheet of paper, it would come out lightly tinted gray. Could I have spilled toner on the rollers or something? I disassembled the printer and tried cleaning it but the problem is still there. I don't want to get rid of this printer since I just spent $100 on a new drum unit for it. Please help!Laser printer is printing dirty pages after I refilled the toner. Please help!?
Is this is a drum/toner cartridge that you refilled? or a separate toner cartridge from the drum?
If it is a combined toner/drum cartridge that you refilled then I'd say that the cartridge is just worn out. These cartridges are not built all that well to last for more than they were intended. There are other internal parts that control the toner application, clean the drum and store waste toner that need attention too. If the waste toner part is full then you'll get this toner coming back out onto your prints. If the drum cleaning parts are worn out - same thing. I really don't ever recommend refilling toner cartridges as there are so many other things that can, and will, wear out and other potential problems from doing so. Also the re-fill toner may not have been of the proper quality as the ones in the cartridges.
I'm sure the printer is still fine, but recommend purchasing a new, or at least a professionally re-manufactured cartridge (though there can be problems with these as well many times). I know they are expensive, but provide more consistent good quality prints.
Best of luck.Laser printer is printing dirty pages after I refilled the toner. Please help!?
If u still have to software for it, install it and use the cleaning utility.

If I buy a Laser Printer do I have to get both toner and a drum for it to work?
If I buy the Brother HL-2142 Mono Laser Printer do I have to also buy the Brother DR-2125 Drum Unit and Brother TN-2130 Black Toner Cartridge before it will work?
What's the difference between the toner and the drum? It looks like you can print with only one without needing the other (am I confused). Is the drum just a more expensive type of toner for higher qulity printing.

The printer comes with toner and a drum. As time passes, you'll have to periodically buy new toner cartridges, and eventually you may have to buy a new drum. However, lasers can print thousands of pages on just one toner cartridge, and even more on just one drum, so it still works out cheaper than other types of printers.
The toner is the equivalent of ink. The drum is a part of the printer that deposits toner on the paper as it rolls over the drum. Toner runs out, and then you need a new cartridge to have more toner (just like ink). Drums wear out, and have to be replaced. Drums last a really long time, though.
no, they come with that already
only buy the toner and drum as needed some way off later
toner runs out, bit like ink
the drum lasts many thousands of pages, its a kind of heater unit, the toner is really tiny plastic that melts into a kind of ink,
laser printer paper comes out quite warm!
the software included will give you all this status information when you install it
I have 2 brother hl-2040 printers. I bought refill toner on ebay for $6 but you also need a $3 part called a reset gear in order to refill the toner. The printers have lasted several years and printed many thousands of pages. Not bad for about $50. I have never replaced the drum.

Laser Printer Dell 1110, Do I Need New Toner or What?
I have a Dell 1110 Laser Printer. Worked great for a year and I printed out a hefty amount of papers...
Though one day the papers that came out were heavily messed up, looking like just streaks and marks of black all over each sheet.
since then I have not used this printer since I don't know what the problem is, but since I'm doing summer college courses am printing out a lot of papers again so need to fix the printer.
What is most likely the issue? The Toner?Laser Printer Dell 1110, Do I Need New Toner or What?
1st replace the toner cartridge. If that doesn't fix it then it could be any number of things from transfer roller to fuser. If as you stated you have never changed the toner start there.Laser Printer Dell 1110, Do I Need New Toner or What?
messed up does not tell us anything but do you mean that there was black lines down the page either every so often or continuous. that could be the drum or fuser
Was the paper screwed up clean rollers.

Kyocera are pretty well renowned for being a little more expensive up front, but way cheaper to run (and therefore cheaper in the long run). i don't know specific models, as i've only dealt with their large office printers (probably a bit much for a student!), but at least one of theirs was recently included in a multifunction printers roundup in one of the many PC magazines i read, and scored well on (surprise) being cheap to run.
Go to www.epson.com and buy a printer direct. Free S%26amp;H, Cheap prices, 1 year Exchange Warranty [the Best around], Great tech support. Now for the icing on the cake. Get a CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of MONEY, never change a cartridge again and it will pay for itself in a month. http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/
I have a CX9400Fax and using the CISS and would not be without it.
BTW, using a CISS makes it cheaper than a Laser printer

Laser printer printing dirty pages after refilling toner. I have a new drum. Please help.?
So I own a Panasonic Laser printer and after the toner was running low, I purchased some toner refill for the same printer off amazon. I already had a new drum installed for a week and it was printing fine but after I refilled the toner and put it in the drum, my printer started printing out dirty pages. Even if I printed out a white page, it would come out with gray specs throughout the paper. The printer has a separate drum/toner and I believe that the toner empties into the drum when you attach the two together. After I started getting dirty pages I took the toner out and opened it and found that it was empty even though I just filled it up. I'm guessing all of the refilled toner went into the drum because now when I print without the toner installed on top of the drum, it still prints dirty pages. I tried manually cleaning it but it just seemed to make it worse. My printer software did not come with any sort of cleaning utility. Should I take my printer to bestbuy or something to have them service it? I really dont want my new drum to go to waste.
Please help!Laser printer printing dirty pages after refilling toner. I have a new drum. Please help.?
You issue is that you refilled the toner and didn't replace andy gearings or electrostatic rollars.
Replace the toner with a new toner or profesionally repurbished toner.
Print a pile of blank pages until you get a clean print.
You may need to replace the drum if you had too much spillage from the refilled toner.
Taking it in for servicing isn't going to do anything, you are just going to end up paying somebody $50 to tell you to replace the toner and drum.Laser printer printing dirty pages after refilling toner. I have a new drum. Please help.?
Bring the toner back. Their is a cleanning blade on it which is not functioning correctly. Their is no reason that the toner should leak. It is not the drum, that is for sure.
he drum is not being cleaned properly between prints. Depending on your printer, that could be the fault of the cleaning blade, the cleaning drum, or possibly an erase lamp, if your printer is very old.
Again, depending on your printer, this could be corrected by changing the toner cartridge (not refilling it).
You may also have toner spilled within the printer - have you tried opening it and cleaning it manually?
Toner leakage, it happen to me when I refilled, but I have only 1 tiny spot, not a big problem for me
if you have a solid grey/ghost print all over the page then the toner you installed was not the correct toner for that machine. did the box have your model of printer listed on it? with most laser printers if you use a ';generic'; toner you will get problems right away when you install the toner. if it was me i would have the toner removed and have the developer unit cleaned out and have all of the waste toner removed and then reinstall with panasonic OEM toner. if it was only a toner spill you would only have a dirty back on your page printed it would look like Black streaks/smears/lines. i don't think it is a spill. good luckwindows explorer

How to check toner level for HP4500N colour laser printer?
Print a configuration page from the menu display. How to check toner level for HP4500N colour laser printer?
Not sure about the 4500 I use a 4600 and a 4700 at work and there usually is a menu setting in those that you can go to. On the 4700 you select the check mark and scroll down to the section that says something like print usage sheet and it prints a page showing how much is left for each color as well as toner same with the 4600. Hope that helped.
